Our Policies

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why an occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client at the set appointment time. Appointments may also be made from our home page by clicking on appointment.

Patient Arrival Policy

For your protection and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the lobby area or exam rooms. If you do not have a leash, one will be provided for you. All cats should be in an appropriate carrier or on a leash.

Missed Appointment Policy

We ask that you please call at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep an appointment. The doctor’s time has been reserved especially for you, and other clients who want that appointment slot for their pets are told it is unavailable.

Prescription Refill Policy

Please call to request medication refills at least 24 hours in advance. This gives the doctor time to authorize the refill and have it prepared and waiting for you to pick up. You can also request refills of medication and food via email by clicking on refill on our home page. Call for more information.

Drop-Off Appointments

For your convenience, “drop-off” appointments are available for most appointment types. A “drop-off” means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours or the day. Usually we will ask you to drop-off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient at the time we have reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor has completed your pet’s examination, he or she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis, treatment, and to give you instructions. There is a small daycare charge for drop-off appointments.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Debit Cards, CareCredit, Cash and Personal Checks.

For the safety of all pets in our care and the staff members who handle them, we require that all vaccinations be up-to-date. (The State of Tennessee requires rabies vaccinations for all pets.) Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, some pets may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other animals. This is one of the reasons we ask you to have your pet on a leash or in a carrier. We recommend that pets be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the reception room.
